To provide better data security, Tally.ERP9 offers an additional backup called auto backup. By activating this feature your company data will be safe. The main advantages of the auto backup are voucher entry, master creation etc. When you enter something, the auto backup utility runs from the backend and updates the backup with the newly added entry.
This occurs immediately after you have saved the vouchers. You can also specify an additional location to save the auto backup file using the Data configuration under F12 configuration settings.
How to enable Auto backup in tally?
If you enable auto backup for an existing company, the auto backup can be activated from the company creation screen or the company alteration screen. From Gateway of Tally, click company info button or use Alt + F3 to go to the company info menu. Enable auto backup, bring it to “yes” and “save” the screen. That's all, the auto backup function is enabled. The backup utility will start running in the background and will start creating backups when you log in and pass voucher entry in Tally.
