Dr. Campbell is a new and exciting addition to the VCA Care family. He is an outstanding surgeon that will help to better serve Santa Barbara County?s emergency and specialty veterinary needs. He brings with him highly advanced surgical skills with extensive experience and interest in minimally invasive techniques such as arthroscopy and minimally invasive plate osteosynthesis.

Raised among the saplings in the heavily wooded forests of Connecticut, Courtney Campbell graduated from a modestly small high school in Burlington. It was in that environment where he developed a bona fide interest in nature and mammals. He then transmuted those interests into a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science/Pre-Veterinary Medicine from the University of Delaware. His educational journey brought him to the southeastern United States where he earned his D.V.M. Degree from Tuskegee University in Alabama. After graduation Courtney worked as a general practitioner at the Connecticut Veterinary Center in West Hartford, CT. He went on from there to receive advanced surgical training with a rotating internship at Affiliated Veterinary Specialists in Maitland, FL, as well as one with Las Vegas Veterinary Referral Center in Las Vegas, NV. Courtney then moved to the Los Angeles area and continued pursuing his surgical interests with yet another internship at Animal Surgical Emergency Center.

Courtney is deeply interested in being proficient in the newest surgical techniques and their clinical applications. He is also very interested in the pathophysiology of inflammatory gastrointestinal disease. In his spare time, he enjoys studying surgery, learning new languages, and understanding the geopolitical aspect of economics.


Dr. Campbell will be providing surgical services Monday through Friday and will also be available for emergency call-?‐ins and travelling services. Courtney welcomes all inquiries/phone consultations and is looking forward to providing Continuing Education for interns, residents, and VCA Care's referring veterinarians!
