Steven and Matthew Hardin first opened Hawgs Seafood Bar on December 13th, 1996. Following its success, Hawgs II opened in downtown San Jose in 2000. His Los Gatos family gave Steven, the original 'Hawgs', that name as a child. He was named 'Hawgs Jaws' due to having the fastest set of jaws among the 6 children at the dinner table. Campbell's new seafood dining establishment sports the ambiance of a real marina café. A wrap-around bar attended by high wooden stools encircles an open kitchen of gleaming stainless steel. Miniature bottles of red Tabasco sauce highlight the white counter. The airy ceiling, smartly emphasized by spotlights and potted plants, lends the place roominess greater than its 10-table capacity. Hawgs provides its guests with the perfect atmosphere for causal dining or social get-togethers. The menu is vast and eclectic featuring something sure to tempt every palate. Hawgs Seafood Bar serves up generous portions of scrumptious continental seafood dishes. From appetizers to desserts, you can't go wrong with any of the selections! Notable selections include the Fresh Grilled Ahi Salad (mixed romaine and baby greens with tomatoes, cucumbers, red onions and choice of dressing,) Seafood Marinara (fresh fish, clams, black mussels, scallops and rock shrimp on a bed of linguine,) Roasted Chicken Gorgonzola (combination of roasted chicken, spinach, sun dried and fresh tomatoes tossed with a capellini pasta and garnished with fresh gorgonzola cheese) and the Grilled New York Strip (served with chef's choice potatoes, sautéed vegetables and red wine mushroom sauce.) Hawgs Seafood Bar is definitely one of the best values around and is conveniently located in the heart of downtown San Jose.
