Restaurant Description
Meson European Dining offers upscale European cuisine by way of the Caribbean. From the time Meson opened, chef and owner Martin Cuevas has strived to prepare a variety of European dishes with his own signature flare. Take for instance, his popular special, the Beef Tenderloin Sensation. This center-cut beef tenderloin is patted with black pepper and pan-seared to seal in the juices. The steak is served atop a cognac cream sauce made with portabello mushrooms, julienne carrots, red wine, and a reduced beef stock. Then there is his extravagant Banana Flambe. Made tableside, this dessert features a feast for all the senses. Meson also boasts an extensive list of fine wines with prices ranging from $12 to $400 a bottle. At Meson, atmosphere and service are both an integral part of the dining experience. The restaurant offers a quaint ambience with soft colors and dim lights. It's decked with fresh flowers, plants, white table cloths, and candlelight. Soft music covers the background noise -- usually guitar or piano. To top it off, Cuevas expects his waiters t know how much attention a diner wants and to make them feel important. "I want people to feel very special, I want them to feel like a king and a queen. You have to use some kind of psychology to understand your diners. The waiter has to anticipate the customers' needs to make sure they stay happy"
