The Tsali recreation area is about 7 miles from your door and a well-known spot for mountain biking and hiking trails. Another excellent place for hiking is the Joyce Kilmer Forest which is filled with natural waterfalls.

There's no better place to beat the heat in the summertime than the crisp waters of Fontana Lake. Drive 7 miles to rent a pontoon boat or jet ski and enjoy a day on the water with your loved ones.

Some other ideas for fun while you're in town include hiking the Appalachian Trail, golfing around Fontana Village, or whitewater rafting in the Nantahala River.
