NJ Chapter President Credits Property Management VP for Group's Success
NORTH PLAINFIELD, N.J., Jan. 4, 2011 - Rose Evans, CPM, vice president of property management at retail real estate services firm Levin Management Corporation, accepted a Distinguished Service Award from the Institute of Real Estate Management's New Jersey Chapter No. 1 (IREM), at the organization's annual Heritage Awards event.
IREM is an international organization of professional property managers who manage all types of real estate. With 80 U.S. chapters, 13 international chapters and several other partnerships around the globe, it has been the source for education, resources, information and membership for real estate management professionals for more than 75 years. IREM also serves as an advocate on issues affecting the real estate management industry.
Evans has been actively involved with IREM NJ Chapter No. 1 for 18 years. She has served as its president, vice president, secretary, executive committee member and education chair, and founded its mentoring program. On a national basis, she has been a governing council member and Ethics Appeal Board chairperson. She serves on the National Faculty Grader and Management Board and is an approved IREM Grader.
"Rose has been the cornerstone of our chapter's success," said Victor Murray, CPM, president, IREM New Jersey Chapter No. 1. "Not only do our executive committee members thank her, but so many of our accredited professionals know that she is the reason that they have been able to earn their credentials."
Evans is only the fourth recipient of the Distinguished Services Award, which was established in 2001. She has received NJ Chapter No. 1's President's Key Award for Outstanding Service three times, was named its "CPM of the Year" twice, and in 2008 became only the second person ever to earn its Community Service Award.
With more than two decades of industry experience, Evans has risen through the ranks to become a leader in her field. At Levin, one of the nation's leading retail real estate services firms, she directs the day-to-day activities of property managers at the company's more than 90 shopping centers (totaling 12.5 million square feet). Evans is responsible for ensuring that the operation of each property meets the organization's highest standards. She also oversees her team's ongoing professional development.
Levin's properties range from downtown stores to lifestyle centers, and from neighborhood and community centers to power centers in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, North Carolina and Florida. Levin offers a full range of services for its clients, including leasing, property management, accounting, construction management, marketing and risk management.
Evans in 2009 was named among Real Estate New Jersey's "Women of Influence" and was profiled in the Mid Atlantic Real Estate Journal. Her vital role at Levin contributed to the company being named Accredited Management Organization of the Year by IREM; and being recognized by Mid Atlantic Real Estate Journal as one of the Best Managers of 2009, the Best Place to Work of 2009 and orchestrator of the Largest Retail Lease of 2009.
