Perth Amboy’s Business Improvement District (BID) is seeking candidates to fill four vacant positions on its board of directors. The BID is recruiting candidates who want to take an active role in enhancing the environment in the community’s downtown. The BID’s mission is to encourage business activity and make the City’s main shopping and dining district more appealing and welcoming to residents and visitors.
The BID is encouraging property and business owners and their employees, as well as residents to apply for open seats on the board. Candidates are needed for two, three-year general board member positions. To be eligible, a candidate needs to own a commercial property or business in the downtown district or be an executive or employee of a company based in the BID. The BID is also seeking candidates to fill two, one-year term board positions as “At Large” or community members. Residents of Perth Amboy are encouraged to apply for the “At Large” positions.
The first step toward joining the BID board is to complete the BID Candidate Application, which is available on the BID’s page on Perth Amboy’s website – https://www.perthamboynj.org – under the BID Candidate Application heading. Interested candidates need to submit their application packets by Tuesday, February 25th to the Business Improvement District; Attn: Executive Committee; 260 High Street; Perth Amboy, NJ, 08861.

Members of BID's board attended Perth Amboy Mayor Wilda Diaz's recent Neighborhood Business Meeting, which was held at Alameda Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center on Elm Street. The Mayor and the directors of the municipal departments briefed local property and business owners about key changes that are taking place in downtown district in the coming months.
