Things To Do

Pawleys Island is known for golf. There are over 10 courses within 5 miles. The Hammock Shops is a shopping village nestled under live oaks. The Pawleys Island shell can be found while beachcombing our beautiful beaches. There is a walking/bike trail called the Waccamaw Neck Trail which extends from Pawleys Island all the way to Marshwalk in Murrells Inlet.

Pawleys Island is filled with hundred year old Live Oak trees draped with Spanish moss and resurrection ferns.

Why We Moved Here

The close proximity of the Atlantic Ocean and the Waccamaw River. The weather is great year round and we still get seasonal change. Our community is very neighborly and social. You can find a lot of festivals throughout the year. This area offers great fishing from the beach, jetties, creeks, river, and ocean fishing. The back bay creek offers flounder, speckled trout, red and black drum and sheepshead. Sport fishermen will find a huge Wahoo migration off the coast of SC up to 100 pounds. River fishing includes catfish and largemouth bass. On the weekends lots of folks go boating on the river and anchor up at Sandy Island which is a big cove. It's a great spot for just hanging out.

Check out the huge American Red Snapper that got away!

This area is known for The Legend of the Gray Man where his ghost appears when bad weather is coming through the area.

Also buying fresh shrimp and boiled peanuts out of pickups on the side of the road.
