In eukaryotes, mRNA undergoes processing to remove introns (splicing), add multiple adenines at the 3´ end, and cap the 5´ end to generate a polyA tail. The modified mRNA is then exported to the cytoplasm for translation.
Translation involves several steps and includes macromolecules such as ribosomes, tRNA, mRNA, and protein factors, as well as small molecules like ATP, GTP, and amino acids. Each translation step requires specific protein factors, and the process is similar in both eukaryotes and prokaryotes.
