The Valley Wine Cottage: A cozy 2-bedroom cottage in the heart of wine country. Walk to restaurants and tasting rooms and then relax on your own front porch or private back deck. (You may rent it as a one-bedroom or a two-bedroom)
About your Place:
Historic cottage built in 1920 with period-correct furnishings but with all of the comforts of a modern home. Fully appointed kitchen, laundry and outdoor spaces make this the ideal place to call home for a long weekend or extended trip.
What guests can access:
You will have the entire home to yourself - including outdoor spaces (porch with rockers, seating area with adirondack chairs and full deck with outdoor dining and lounging furniture and a hammock. Bocce Ball and Corn Hole court in the backyard. Full laundry room with washer and dryer.
We want you to feel like you're in your own little wine country cottage, so we will not be present during your stay, but are just a phone call or text away. We have a very comprehensive guest book full of recommendations and locals "hacks" that we will email you in advance to plan your trip.
The Space:
Historic cottage built in 1920 with period-correct furnishings but with all of the comforts of a modern home. Fully appointed kitchen, laundry and outdoor spaces make this the ideal place to call home for a long weekend or extended trip. We provide all linens, fluffy towels and two luxurious robes in each bedroom. We also provide all toiletries including disposable razors, shaving cream, contact solution, toothbrushes, shampoo and conditioner, body wash, sumptuous body lotion, etc. (Just in case you forget anything).
The house was fully renovated in 2017 with brand new central heat and air conditioning and a new large capacity water heater (for luxurious soaks in the restored clawfoot tub!) as well as completely new plumbing pipes throughout and electric wiring to support all your gadgets. You'll just feel like you stepped back in time, but you'll have all of the comforts of today (including lightening fast Fios Wi-Fi).

We are also the owners of Valley Wine Merchants, the most comprehensive wine shop in the Willamette Valley, which is just 6 blocks away from the cottage. We are happy to give recommendations and make appointments for you at our area wineries and tasting rooms.
The neighborhood:
Newberg is the very heart of Oregon Wine Country. There are over 300 world-class wineries within a 20 minute drive to our house and 10 tasting rooms within walking distance of our cottage. We are also just blocks away from the Hoover-Minthorn House Museum - the childhood home of President Herbert Hoover. You can take a short stroll to the historic Cameo Theater, which shows first-run movies in a historic guilded theater. Newberg is also home to one of the last remaining drive-in movie theaters on the West Coast.
How to get around:
You can walk to tasting rooms, restaurants, antique shops and historical sites. It's a short drive to Wineries and World-class dining. You can walk or take a 2 minute drive to George Fox University.
