“Un Pensamento En Azul”
“A thought in blue” is the title of one in the series of bicycle paintings.
It is painted with the sole intention of reaching the essence of its subject and in this case its
bicycles. The question that I have asked myself for some time now is, “When does an image cease to become an image?” What is that attractions we see recognized in symmetry from afar? How is it that our possessions somehow take on the impression of the possessor? This is not a new concept for an artist; however it is a question that may take a life time and maybe even more to achieve.
I am Reminded by my teaching and the years of training in the disciplines of drawing /painting allowing me to translate images
in any medium with ease. Whether using a pencil or the latest technology, I find that the principals of making art still remain the same, that is, working with the tools and materials needed in order to accomplish a work. The Question for the artist is, will this artwork stand or fall, live or die against the wall of the great masters? My passion for color and its calor (warmth to our body temperature) comes from my heritage that seeps through each time I create…
