Purchased from the Native-Americans by William Penn, the area still contains the families of its original settlers dating back to the 1600's. The area is surrounded by museums that tell the tale of those early days in America and are rich in beauty and nature, with many walking and biking trails. Waterways and river fronts plod by the Indians are available today for rafting, boating and picnicking.
New Hope is a Mecca of diversity, attracting residents of all kinds including artists, authors, actors and antique collectors.
It is a short drive from Peddler's Village, a shopping attraction, and Sesame Place. Shopping in New Hope is as diverse as its populace, with plentiful unusual and unique crafts as well as "oddball" stores, bars and restaurants. Live music abounds throughout.
