The George “Best” Costacos Cultural and Cancer Research Foundation USA was founded June 2009 to honor the memory and life's work of the late actor/singer, George "Best" Costacos. George Costacos' love of life, philanthropic spirit, and devotion to his work were an inspiration to all.
The mission of the Foundation is to:
- support research to understand the etiology of cancer
- promote, foster and advance the professional pursuits of young artists
- support improvement in the management of brain tumors

Philippe Valy is known worldwide and recognized as an artist of caliber throughout major organizations and dignitary circles.

Story of the creation of My Last Butt
Before moving to the US in 1994, Philippe lived and painted in St. Maarten for seven years. Two actress friends from France visited him during this time and mentioned how they wanted to put together a French television tribute for Serge Gainsbourg who had recently died. A heavy smoker, Serge was never seen without a cigarette. As a lifelong fan of Gainsbourg Philippe was deeply affected by this news and was inspired to create this microsculpture representing a crushed butt as an empowering symbol of "kicking the habit" and also decided to stop smoking himself. This microsculpture is numbered and signed by Valy. As the project became popular, Philippe decided to start the My Last Butt movement.
Philippe strongly believes that if one quits smoking, it is imperative that they reward themselves with something pleasant.
