BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Johns has been a team physician for Rutherford County and MTSU Blue Raider athletes for over 30 years. His favorite place to be is on any sport sideline.
Dr. Johns has a strong interest in athletic trainer education and has helped establish these programs at MTSU.
He was presented the Thomas A. Brady award in 2010 from The American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine for his dedication to excellence in sports medicine in his community.
Dr. Johns was also chosen to serve America’s best as a physician for track and field at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia.
He received his B.S. degree from Middle Tennessee State University and his medical degree from University of Tennessee, Memphis. His orthopaedic training and residency was at Vanderbilt University hospitals.
