Updating Your Agent & Broker Profiles on A Greater Town

Hello. If you are a real estate agent and you have discovered your profile on our website, you may be wondering how your listings and agent information got here. In a nutshell, you and/or your broker, and/or your franchise, and/or your MLS probably opted into it at some point in the past. Otherwise, your information and listings wouldn't be here. You can generally opt out by changing your settings and/or permissions.

We are part of ListHub's national distribution network, which receives its content from your MLS. Please visit their website, listhub.com for more about their vast listing distribution network. We would not be allowed to display your listing on our site if you and/or your broker, and/or franchise and/or MLS hadn't given permission to distribute it through the ListHub network, which we are part of.

In order for us to remove your agent profile, you need to first remove your listings from our site. To remove your listings from our site, you need to change your settings and/or preferences which govern its distribution. Typically you will find them in your ListHub dashboard and/or in your MLS dashboard. You may need to review this with your broker and/or your MLS association as well.

Once you have removed your listing from our site, please let us know, and we will be able to delete your profile at that time. For more information, please review the following FAQs:

1. I did not authorize you to advertise my listings. How did they get on your website?

Your listings come to our website through a data feed from ListHub, which receives them from your MLS.

Your broker participates in both the MLS and ListHub, and A Greater Town is part of ListHub's national distribution network.

The ListHub distribution network is approved by your broker and/or your franchise.

2. I have no affiliation with you or your company. Why is my business on your site?

A Greater Town is part of ListHub's national distribution network, which receives your listings (together with your business contact info) from your MLS, and redistributes them to over 150 participating publishers, including A Greater Town.

3. How do you get my personal information?

Each day, our site receives active listings from ListHub. Your agent profile on A Greater Town is derived from the information in your most recent listing.

4. I did not consent to publish my information on your site. Please remove my contact info, images and any other information associated with my name.

This FAQ page addresses steps you would need to take in order to enable us to delete your information permanently.

You probably have given or established consent and/or certain permissions with regard to how your listings are distributed at the brokerage, MLS and/or ListHub levels.

You would need to modify or rescind those permissions at those respective levels.

You may have established or given consent to your broker and/or your MLS to publish your listings, and to distribute through ListHub, which is how they got onto our site. If you had not given permission to them, or allowed the current syndication pattern, we would not have received your listings from the ListHub feed.

Your listings include your contact information. If you have active listings on our site, we cannot delete your information since it is part of your listings. Please check with your office if it is possible to remove your personal information from your active listings. Otherwise, you may have to remove your listings from the ListHub feed, or remove our site from the list of sites to which you syndicate.

Please consult with your broker as to how you want to advertise your listings and contact information.

5. Can I remove my information from your website?

It depends if you are actively listing properties, or not.

You can't remove your information from your listings as long as they are on our site, however, you can edit your information by claiming your page..

Alternatively, you might be able to remove them from the MLS and/or the ListHub feed, which is how they come to us daily. You might also be able to put them under your broker's name. It's best to discuss these options with your broker.

If you are not listing properties anymore, you can permanently delete your information. Please claim your profile through the link below, then you can delete it. If you need help, let us know if you are no longer listing properties or participating with the MLS and/or the ListHub feed, and we will be happy to assist!

6. I do not want to participate in the ListHub feed.

If you do not want to participate in the ListHub feed any longer, you would need to remove your listings from it. Please contact your office administrator and/or ListHub for assistance in removing them from the feed. Your listings will then no longer appear on our site. Please let us know when you have removed your listings from the ListHub feed, so we can delete any associated information permanently.

7. I do want to participate in the ListHub feed, but I don't want to display my listings on your site.

You may be able to filter your listings from being distributed to our site. This may vary depending on your brokerage and/or your MLS. Please contact your office administrator, MLS or ListHub to inquire if this is possible. Your listings will then no longer appear on our site. Please let us know when you have removed your listings from the ListHub feed, so we can delete any associated information permanently.

8. Do you scrape my listings from other websites?

No, we receive your listings from ListHub, which gets them from your MLS through a data feed.

9. What is ListHub?

ListHub is the leading platform nationwide for listing management, which increases exposure for your listings.

ListHub's national distribution network serves more than 66,000 brokerages, synchronizing listing information from nearly 600 MLS data sources, with over 150 participating publishers reaching homebuyers on more than 750 websites.

ListHub is owned by Move.com, which also owns Realtor.com.

10. What is A Greater Town?

A Greater Town is a national marketing platform which features all things local. More about A Greater Town below.

11. Can I make changes to my agent profile on your website?

Yes. A Greater Town offers special features that many other publishers do not offer. We allow you to update information in your profile and add other content as well. When you make changes to your profile, you can override certain personal data that we derive from your listings, such as you phone number. We also invite you to enhance your profile with information, such as your headshot, that is not contained in your listings.

12. What information can I change on my agent profile?

You can change personal information including your name, website, MLS ID, phone number, email address, and primary service area - the location in which the profile primarily appears.

13. What information can I add to my agent profile?

You can add a headshot photo, your bio, testimonials and social media links. These pieces of information are not sent to us in the ListHub feed and therefore only appear on your profile if you add them yourself.

14. Can I update my broker's information also?

You can override every field on your agent profile, including your broker and office information.

However, if you currently have active listings, your broker and office overrides do not display, since the broker controls how office & broker information appear on listings. If the information is incorrect, please let your office admin know it needs to be corrected in the MLS dashboard and/or in the ListHub dashboard. Check the videos and links at the bottom of this page for further information on this topic.

15. When I update my agent profile, will it update the information in my property listings on your site?

Yes. When you update or override personal information in your profile, your changes are reflected in all of your listings on our site.

16. Can I delete my agent profile on your website?

If you do not currently have active listings, then you can delete your agent profile. If you have active listings on our site, then it is not possible to delete your profile because your profile is automatically derived from your active listings.

17. If I delete my agent profile, will it be permanent?

Not necessarily. If you delete your agent profile, your profile will return if we receive any new listings for you.

18. I found my agent profile on your site, but I do not have any property listings. Why is that?

At one time, you had active listings on our site and we derived your agent profile from your listings. When the listings are removed, we maintain your agent profile unless you delete it.

19. Can I delete a property listing?

No. Property listings belong to your broker. We advise you to consult your broker if you wish to remove a property listing, or if you want to remove your personal information from the listing.

20. How does my broker delete a property listing from your site?

We receive your listings from ListHub which, in turn, receives your listings from your MLS. In some cases, your MLS may have a relationship with ListHub that allows your broker to opt-out of publishing on our site.

21. Why is my personal phone number wrong?

A common reason is that the number belongs to an agent that used to be part of your office. Your office administrator who has access to the ListHub dashboard may not have updated the number when that agent left.

22. How do I correct my personal information before it gets to your site?

In most cases, ListHub sends us the information found directly in your MLS listings. In some cases, ListHub may be receiving your information from another source such as corporate marketing for your brand. In all cases, please contact your broker or office administrator who handles listing syndication for further information.

23. How do I get update my agent profile on your site?

First, you must claim your profile. Claiming your profile is a simple matter of creating a new account on our site using the email address found on your profile. Once you confirm your email address, your account on A Greater Town is linked to your agent profile.

24. Is there a charge to claim your profile?

No, there's no charge to claim your profile at the basic level. We do offer an enhanced version, which includes a robust microsite and additional visibility, and we do charge for that. Contact us for further information.

25. Are you able to lock it so partners cannot edit it, just myself?

Yes, only you or your authorized marketing team can edit your personal data. Just create an account using your preferred email, and we can assign the page to you.

The brokerage info may change, however, but only when you have listings, and if your broker posts different info into the MLS. For example, a different phone number or URL for the broker's contact info.

Let us know when your account is opened!

26. The business and contact information on our brokerage page is wrong. How can I correct it?

We have no access to the information that appears on your broker office page. It needs to be managed directly by the broker through their ListHub dashboard and/or their MLS dashboard. Both dashboards need to be aligned with the same information. After changes are made, they will go live on our site within a few days. Any changes made in their ListHub and/or MLS dashboards will be reflected on their business page if they have current listings, or when they post a new listing. Changes will also appear on agent listings, which will reflect on their profiles as well.
