STELLA CRISPO in a Benefit Performance at TRUMPETS JAZZ CLUB

Montclair New Jersey : International singer/songwriter/musician, Stella Crispo, will perform on Sunday, September 14th, 2014 at Trumpets Jazz Club, 6 Depot Square, Montclair, NJ 07042 at 1:00-3:00 p.m. The performance is organized by the George Best Costacos Cultural and Cancer Research Foundation in collaboration with the artist Philippe Valy and is included in the activities it is organizing to promote the launch of its My Last Butt crowdfunding campaign in early September. Proceeds will benefit cancer research at NY Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center. There will be a $15 entrance fee for the event, which will also feature a raffle drawing. Trumpets Jazz Club is a well-known and respected venue in Montclair which has hosted many top names in the jazz world.

Stella Crispo, a local resident of Little Fall , was raised in a very eclectic musical family with classical roots on one side and pop on the other. She grew up listening to everything from Queen to Mozart and has been particularly influenced by Linda Ronstadt. Her tribute band to the artist, "Heart like a Wheel," was years in the making. Through it, Stella shares some of Ronstadt's music and the impact she has had on her. The band's first show at B.B. King's in Manhattan was a huge success. "Her music, her voice, her heart have forever left a print on me and she is the epitome of versatility. I'm humbled and excited to perform her material."



Stella has performed for the Alliance for A Better Community (ABC) concert series she has performed to a very warm reception at Memorial Park in the Township She performs every other Friday at Calandra's Mediterranean Grill in the Hampton Inn in Fairfield, as well as concerts, private affairs and Italian festivals. She was invited to perform a pre-show concert at Newark's New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) before Liza Minnelli's performance. "It was a great experience performing at NJPAC," she noted. "I've had the opportunity to work with incredible coaches including the late Paul Gavert, Patricia Carey (Mariah Carey's mother) and my current coach, the renowned Kathy Olsen of Encompass Arts in Manhattan. The recent release of Stella’s original song “Show Me” was very well received.

THE GEORGE BEST COSTACOS CULTURAL AND CANCER RESEARCH FOUNDATION is a recognized 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization founded in 2009 to honor the memory and life’s work of the late actor/singer George “Best” Costacos who died of a malignant brain tumor at the age of 44.
