Taste of the World and Roku reaches out to Real Estate Agents

Taste of the World Training Video 1 - Real Estate Agent as Affiliate Producer Approaches Restaurant General Manager

AGENT - Hi, thanks for taking a couple minutes. I'm Cindy Flynn. I'm actually in real estate doing this as a passion project. I love food and wine. Do you have a few minutes?

GENERAL MANAGER - I'm the general manager. What's this about?

AGENT - I work with a Roku channel production team. We run live events at partner restaurants. I'm here to see if you'd be a fit. Talk about the exact package and next steps.

GENERAL MANAGER - Live events and TV at restaurants. How does that work?

AGENT - The idea is simple. We come to your restaurant, stage a studio style live event with regular wine dinner, and that footage turns into four TV episodes. Our initial show is called Chef Versus Mom.

GENERAL MANAGER - So, you film us while we host people.

AGENT - Yes. You're the venue. Your restaurant is the studio set. We need restaurants that take reservations, and people want to be a part of the competition. That's why we make your diners the judges. Four core parts. First is the location. Second is the price. Third is the condition. And fourth is the timing. TV exposure. Your venue and selected menu items are featured in four episodes with each episode running about 30 minutes.

GENERAL MANAGER - Four episodes. That sounds substantial.

AGENT - Second is our Taste of the World Club. Wine and Spirits. It's a turnkey wine and spirits club for your restaurant. We suggest launching with an $89 per month membership. Each month typically includes two bottles of wine and two cocktails, and it's designed to create recurring revenue. Hopefully, you have a good relationship with your suppliers. We use our TV branding to promote your club. Out of that $89 per month per customer, we ask for only $22 per month per customer. By the way, this combined with the wine dinner gets you at profit pretty quick. We help you with the setup, so it's not something you reinvent. Then you run it as a regular offering for your guests. So the TV help people in and the club gives you repeat revenue. That's why we insist that you have Toast, the membership system we use. Wine view integrates with it perfectly.

GENERAL MANAGER - What about the footage? Can we use it?

AGENT - Third waved licencing fees. You get the rights to use the show footage and branding in your own social media and marketing. So you're not just featured, you can keep promoting the episodes and the experience after they air.

GENERAL MANAGER - Good. So we'd actually leverage it.

AGENT - Fourth travel synergy. Taste of the World Presents. There's also an opportunity tied to with Emily Smith, which helps you plug into a national branding network beyond just the local market.

GENERAL MANAGER - That's a lot. What show are we talking about?

AGENT - Our flagship show is Chef Versus Mom. It's a fun, relatable culinary battle. The storytelling is designed to keep viewers in your part of the hook. It's fun for everyone.

GENERAL MANAGER - So, what's the cost of our initial investment?

AGENT - It's a $5,000 TV, wine, and spirits package investment tied to booking your restaurant as a venue. After that, we coordinate production, your participation elements, and the club launch plan.

GENERAL MANAGER - What do you need from us for it to work?

AGENT - The requirements are one, you take reservations, two, you can seat 60 plus guests comfortably, and three, you participate in the live event format. We want to start your club as soon as possible. No pressure. The goal is just to be honest about whether this matches your restaurant and your goals. restaurants that benefit most and get behind both the TV and the club.

GENERAL MANAGER - How long does the live event take?

AGENT - The good news is it runs just like a wine dinner. Just out of that one evening, we can create our four episodes. I will be here to oversee everything and help you with the process.

GENERAL MANAGER - What are the next steps if we're interested?

AGENT - Simple. Let's find a mom that's willing to take on your chef. Let me get you the Wine View information. We should start your club as soon as possible. Residual money is a good thing.

GENERAL MANAGER - What does that include?

AGENT - It's basically verify your capacity and reservation setup. Confirm you're comfortable with the system and how it works with Toast POS. And we ask that you honor other Taste of the World Club members because we want you to offer perks to members and we ask that you extend those perks to members that aren't a part of your home club. This way you get extra business.

GENERAL MANAGER - How long of a process is this?

AGENT - Usually a day or two. If it looks like a strong fit, we move to locking in wine dinner dates and getting you started with Taste of the World clubs.

GENERAL MANAGER - And if we decide not to?

AGENT - no pressure. The goal is just to be honest about whether this matches your restaurant and your goals because the
ones that can deliver the experience and get behind both the TV and the club.

GENERAL MANAGER - If I say yes, what happens next?

AGENT - Then we schedule your discovery call, choose the best participation approach, and we reserve your date for the production window.

GENERAL MANAGER - All right. Um, can we start with the fit check?

AGENT - Yes. Great. What's the best email and phone number for you? And who else should be on the quick call? Your bar manager, your chef, owner?
