“Art Lotto,” an artist-based, community-oriented portrait show

Studio Montclair presents the exhibit, “Art Lotto,” an artist-based, community-oriented portrait show. The exhibit will be on view from September 15 through November 10, 2018 at the Studio Montclair Gallery, 127 Bloomfield Avenue, Montclair, NJ. An opening reception will be held on Saturday, September 15 from 7 to 9pm.
Art Lotto brings artists together in a new and different way. Each artist is paired with another to create a portrait, but the artists are not paired with each other. The experience invites connection and, to some degree, a collaboration, as partners are invited to meet beforehand to share their own work, background, styles, and sensibilities. Art Lotto also invites artists to stretch outside their usual medium, if desired, and to experiment with portraiture with unexpected or unconventional materials and techniques. The result is a wonderfully deep and diverse collection of work that brings together a community of artists and paints a broader landscape of the creative community of Montclair as a whole.
