Nina Malik, DVM - MERRICK, NY

Dr. Malik received her veterinary degree from Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine and completed an internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania. Upon completion of her internship, she worked as an emergency and critical care doctor in a specialty animal hospital. While working as an emergency veterinarian, Dr. Malik often encountered patients who had chronic diseases, such as severe arthritis, inflamatory bowel disease, or paralysis, that she desperately wanted to help. Often these animals had exhausted their treatment options with traditional Western medicine. This is when she began looking for more tools like acupuncture to help heal her patients.

Dr. Malik was trained and certified in veterinary acupuncture through the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society and completed an internship focusing exclusively on veterinary acupuncture in a holistic hospital in Pennsylvania. She is now a member of the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society, the American Academy of Veterinary Acupuncture, and the American Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Malik's mission as a veterinarian is to provide quality and compassionate care for small animals through integrative veterinary medicine. She believes in the best advanced Western therapies available and in the ancient healing art of acupuncture. Her goal is to bridge the connection between these two disciplines so that integrative veterinary medicine is recognized for the benefits it provides.
