As a foodie who not only loves taking pictures of food, as much you love eating them, you want to take this hobby and adventure, one step further. You want to write reviews on restaurants, cafes, coffee shops and your favourite pizza parlour but you are clueless on the parameters to look out for. You’ve read enough reviews to know that it’s not only about the food, but there hasn’t been enough discussion on what else it should be around. Or at least you have not been able to find an article that did! Well, we are here to give you a helping hand out and provide you a quick guide to reviewing restaurants.
The Food
Of course, while food would not be the only thing about a restaurant review, it is after all the main thing! If you do have a generous drool-worthy Instagram feed already going on, you would probably have checked the visual aspect of it. When it comes to picking out best restaurants Sydney is nothing short of an enormous sea of great food. When you are picking out meals for a review, try to go with a friend if you can. This way, not only will you be able to validate your opinion, you will also have the opportunity to order more variety dishes. It is important that even if you don’t have all courses on a regular basis, to have a bit of everything, at least here and there to give your review a more wholesome experience. This way you will be at a better advantage to actually speak on what tastes good and what doesn’t and if the said restaurant has a particular course, such as dessert that is worth visiting exclusively for. Oh, and don’t forget the beverages!
The Service
Almost as important as food, is the service. Remember that a restaurant can have food worth having dreams for, but if the service is horrifying, it’s not going to bring back any customers. Service is not only about how fast and efficient the kitchen staff is with preparing your food. While this is important, because obviously, you cannot wait an hour for your food to arrive, what’s equally important is the attitude of the restaurant staff. This includes the response and tone of voice in the serving staff and the hospitality of the staff including cashiers and restaurant managers. After all, restaurants, besides the food is all about hospitality.
The Ambience and Location
While this isn’t always exclusive, having a nice ambience and location is always an advantage to the restaurant. Not only would this mean that people would come back because of the view (yes, there are some people who would do that)! Also other perks would include things like parking, which is also a great advantage for a lot of people.
The Quality
The quality refers to the quality of food and service. It’s important that a good restaurant has both good quality food and good service of staff. After all that is what is going to give the restaurant the stars in the end!
