Our front porch looks out onto Great North Mountain with all the recreational opportunities that it offers.
Lower Cove Run is the creek that flows in front of the cabin and sections are stocked with trout for your fishing enjoyment.
Trout Pond Recreational area is a short drive through the woods and offers a playground for the kids, fishing, and swimming with a lovely white sand beach.
Lost River State Park also nearby with horseback riding, swimming and more!
Approximately 2 hours from DC, 3 hours from Baltimore and 4+ hours from the Philadelphia area, the Lost River Valley is a short drive.
The main cabin has 2 master bedrooms and 2-1/2 baths. There is a queen sized sleeper sofa in the living area allowing the main cabin to sleep 6.
The newly remodeled guest cabin has heat/air, bathroom and kitchenette and has a full-size sleeper sofa for additional guests.
This open concept cabin has been designed with comfort and entertainment in mind. Both downstairs bedrooms have their own full bathrooms. The front master has a brand new king-sized memory foam bed/mattress and the 2nd master has two double beds. The new living area furniture upstairs provides the option of a comfortable queen-size sleeper sofa.
Two levels of covered decks/porches surround the cabin. There are two 14X26 screened porches. Both porches provide tables and chairs for entertaining and on the lower level porch there is a large hot tub for your enjoyment.
The stone wood-burning fireplace adds to the coziness of the living room. The cabin provides high-speed fiberoptic internet with WIFI. There is a new flat-screen Smart TV and a bluetooth capable stereo. Our Amazon Fire Stick allows one to watch Amazon Prime movies or stream free Netflix movies. There are lots of books and some games for rainy days.
There is usually no cell phone service in this area, but there is a land line phone for limited necessary phone calls.
The kitchen is well appointed with new dishwasher, a disposal, refrigerator, coffeemaker, blender and dual-fuel stove (burners are gas, oven is electric). Stools at the snack bar make it easy to serve those casual meals. The dining room table seats 6 with room to spare. The kitchen is stocked with many of the provisions one needs for the basics (Pots, pans, bowls, dishes, glassware, seasonings, sugar, paper goods, cooking oil, etc). Just bring your own food. If you don't want to cook while on vacation there are some lovely restraunts in the area which are listed along with lots of other "places to go and things to see" in the informational notebook found in the cabin.
There is a new gas grill for your barbecue skills and a fire pit for sitting around and creating vacation memories.
We love dogs and are a dog-friendly cabin. We will allow up to a maximum of 4 dogs (80 lbs or less please) "Well - Behaved" dogs for an additional one-time fee of $50.00 per dog.
