Built by popular science fiction writer, Margaret St. Clair, and her husband, local radio personality, Eric St. Clair, this cozy two bedroom, two bath home on one acre has a panoramic white water ocean view to Point Arena Lighthouse with private beach access. Situated on a hill overlooking Irish Beach on the beautiful Mendocino Coast, the home offers a gas fireplace, decks, a beautifully landscaped garden, hot tub, window seats, skylights and oak floors, along with amenities such as free WiFi, DVD, stereo tape deck and CD player, a music and film library, and clock radios in each bedroom.
The home sleeps a maximum of 5 comfortably in 2 queen-size beds and a full-size sofabed with Simmons mattress. Bedside reading lamps, electric blankets, and down comforters are provided, foam or down pillows are available.
Within a half-hour drive is the charming village of Mendocino with its quaint shops and excellent restaurants, you can easily drive east to enjoy an afternoon of wine tasting in beautiful Anderson Valley or south to visit Pt. Arena's beautiful lighthouse and fascinating exotic animal preserve.
The town of Manchester, 1 mile south, has a country store that sells food, meats, fresh produce, wines, etc. Five miles south is Pt. Arena with a pharmacy, movie theatre, Indian casino, gas station and bank with ATM.
Please note: there is no broadcast TV reception in Irish Beach. Due to allergy sensitivities no smoking or pets are allowed.
California residents who are driving to Irish Beach are expected to bring their own bed and bath linens. There is a $60 cleaning fee. Guests staying 4 nights or less have the option of cleaning for themselves.
