Air Cooled Engine Co. was founded in 1962 by Vernon and Jean Horton. The original store was a small lawn & garden repair shop called Horton's Lawnmower Shop. Vernon and Jean built Air Cooled Engine Company on the belief that one should provide high-quality products along with honesty and good service.
Throughout the years Air Cooled Engine Company has grown into a full-line parts and equipment retail store and service center providing for both homeowners and the commercial industry.
Air Cooled Engine Company is now a third-generation, family-owned business. Vernon and Jean retired in 1990. Their son-in-law, Jerry Stout, retired in December 2008 after 36 years of service. Their daughter, Linda H. Stout, vice-president, became part of the organization in 1982. Jerry & Linda's son-in-law, Dale Robertson, president and daughter, Stacie Stout Robertson, secretary-treasurer, joined the company in 1986.
Air Cooled Engine Company takes great pride in employing qualified personnel to assume the responsibilities required in having a successful business. They feel very blessed to have employees who have played a great role in the success of Air Cooled Engine Company. Air Cooled Engine Company continues to carry on the tradition of honesty, high-quality products and thrives on giving excellent service to our customers.
