From the NY Times: In a city that drives everywhere, Los Feliz Village in Los Angeles stands out. Just east of Hollywood, below the sylvan hills where the Griffith Park Observatory recently reopened, the neighborhood is home to a growing cluster of shops and restaurants — all eminently walkable from each other.
Within walking distance, there is a DASH bus that can get you around Los Feliz and connects to other neighborhoods.
The Neighborhood
Los Feliz is the best! Here you won't be trapped in your car, you can wake up and walk to grab a great cup of coffee and stop by the organic market to pick up groceries for dinner or lunch. It’s location is ideal because of its close proximity to many freeways (a reality of life in LA), and many points of interest, including Hollywood, Griffith Park, Silverlake, Downtown and many of the studios.
