- Minimum Two Full Years of College/ University
- Fluency in English
- No Criminal Background
- Clean Bill of Health
DETAILS:
Location: Georgia (Across the country. Volunteers are assigned their location during the in-country orientation)
Type of School: Public schools (Elementary, Middle & High School)
Positions Available: 50 each group
Start Dates: 15th & 30th of every month
Contract Length: Teachers who start by September 30th 2011 can return in December 22nd 2011 or in June 15th 2012
Application Deadline: Applicants are recommended to apply at least two months before their desired departure month
Number of Students/Class: 10-20 students/class
Teaching Hours: 26-30 hours/week
Schedule: Monday to Friday
Volunteer Stipend in Local Currency: 500 Georgia Lari/month tax-free (minus 100 Georgian Lari per month to the host family for utilities)
Volunteer Stipend in USD: Approx. $284 USD/month stipend tax-free (minus $ 57 USD per month fee to the host family)
Health Insurance: Local Medical Insurance Provided
Housing: Accommodation with a host family which is usually within walking distance to the school. Most volunteers will have internet access at the school or at their homestay. Homestays have been screened by the Georgian government
Airfare: Pre-Paid Return Airfare (1 year contracts include two return airline tickets)
Vacation: up to 4 weeks (20 days)
