unearth: Saluda Shoals Park

Friday October 5, 2012 AND Sunday October 7, 2012

unearth is a very unique celebration of the arts. It kicks off on Friday, October 5 when the SC Shakespeare Company performs. Far from your typical art show, unearth presents its 35 juried artists on Sunday October 7 from 1pm - 5pm along woodsy paths at Saluda Shoals Park. One turn in the trail may take you to a watercolorist demonstrating her techniques as she paints the river scenery before her. Another job in the path takes you to a string quartet set up in the trees playing Mozart. Walk a bit further, and you reach a woodcarver, displaying her wares and explaining her craft. The festival truly lives up to its title, "unearth, a celebration of Naturally Inspired Art." Visitors may participate in various workshops and demos. At 5pm on Sunday the Lake Murray Symphony Orchestra performs. Saluda Shoals Park off Old Bush River Road. Go to the Irmo Chapin Recreation Commission website for slideshows, a list of events and lots of good info!
