Located just west of the heart of Columbia, the Vista is a thriving area for nightlife and shopping, but how did it grow to be the entertainment district it is today? Every Friday in October, HCF will host a guided walking tour of the Vista complete with cocktail and appetizer stops along the way to discuss the history and architecture of this historic district. Price for the tour includes appetizers and two beverages. All participants must be 21 years of age. The tour meets at 5:30 pm between the Gervais and Vine and Carolina Wings restaurants off Gervais Street. $20 for HCF members | $25 for non-members.  Lake Carolina Wine and Food FestivalSaturday October 13, 2012 Lake Carolina's 10th Annual Wine & Food Festival is only a couple days away. Savor the flavors on Saturday, October 13, 2012 from 2pm - 5pm. The festival kicks off at 8:00am with the Wine Glass 10K sponsored by Velocity Distance Project. Gates open for wine tastings and food samplings at 2:00pm with live music from "2 For the Road." We are excited to welcome three outstanding chefs to the food demonstration stage: Chef Bertrand Gilli (2:30pm), Chef Katherine Shavo of Columbia's Cooking! (3:15pm) and Chef Larry Platt of Let's Cook Culinary Studio (4:00pm). Vendors for this year's festival include: Browse artwork by The Blythewood Artist Guild and bid on special items at the Silent Auction including a Charleston getaway, an Oyster Roast for the whole family, a cooking class, rounds of golf, a trip to Disney and much more.
