History

Lagrange and surrounding towns were the site of a great forest fire in 1947.

The racial makeup of the town was 96.6% White, 0.3% African American, 1.4% Native American, 0.6% Asian, and 1.1% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.8% of the population.
