To Gamble or Invest

When it comes to putting your house up for sale, you need to ask yourself if you want to Gamble (For Sale by Owner) or Invest

(Listing with a Realtor®). We Realtors® don’t carry a license just for
fun. Think of it like this, when your kid gets sick do you take them to
your neighbor because they are a vet? No! You take them to the Doctor,
the professional who carries the license to practice medicine for
people.
Same for Realtors®, we are educated in the Real estate law.
No, that does not mean we can play Real Estate Attorney. It just means
we are licensed to be a Real Estate agent for the public.
If someone
can sue McDonalds over a “hot” cup of coffee, as ridiculous as that is,
someone will find another “hot” cup of coffee to sue that seller who
did the “For Sale by Owner”. If you choose to do a For Sale by Owner,
you will be gambling, that you won’t get some crazy person in your house
or that you will get a decent offer on your house.
According to The
National Association of REALTORS® in 2007 homes listed with a Realtor®
sell 32% higher than those sold by owner.
To invest in getting your house sold is the safest and best way to go. When I say invest, I mean listing with an agent.
