A small boarding and day school for bright children ages 7-14 with learning disabilities, including dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, not-verbal learning disabilities or visual and auditory processing disorders. The program also is well suited to those with ADHD or organizational difficulties.
Oakland offers individualized academic and residential programs. Including small class sizes (5:1 student:teacher ratio) and one-to-one instruction each weekday for all students. Oakland's curriculum (through 9th grade) is ungraded to allow students to progress as quickly as they are able (students receive 9th grade credits). Oakland's curriculum also incorporates character development and focuses on the six pillars of character.
Oakland offers a wide variety of recreational activities including horseback riding, intamural sports, fine and performing arts, outdoor adventures and cultual weekend outings throughout the area.
