I don’t know about you, but the last thing I feel like doing on a sweltering hot day is cook.
So what’s out there that we can make that will either cool us off or at best, not heat up the kitchen to uncomfortable temperatures?
Allrecipes.com has some great ideas for summer meals, including Double Tomato Bruschetta, Fresh Broccoli Salad, and Peppered Shrimp Alfredo!
Food.com has a recipe for Best Grape Salad that received a 5 star rating. And the photo of the Creamed Corn Zucchini and Peppers looks cool and refreshing and would be a great idea for some of those fresh from your garden veggies, as well as Cucumber-Zucchini Salad!
Disney FamilyFun has summer dinner recipes that sound easy to make and tasty to eat like Asian Pulled Pork Sandwiches, Grilled Turkey Breast on Summer Greens and Peachy Pork Tenderloin!
Browneyedbaker has a list of 185 Favorite Summer Recipes including Beer and Brown Sugar Kielbasa & Sauerkraut, Grilled Chicken Drumsticks with Spicy Apple Glaze and Potato Salad with Herbed Balsamic Vinaigrette.
What about something cool to drink? Foodnetwork.com has a Watermelon-Coconut Cooler or you could try Fresh Fruit Infused Water, I was told that if you put slices of ½ a lemon, ½ a lime and ½ an orange in a pitcher of water and let sit for a few hours it is very light and refreshing!
Then there is the great gas vs. charcoal debate. Gas is quick but you can’t beat the flavor of charcoal!
What are some of your favorite summer recipes?
