Charleston Challenge 2013 is a fundraising event. The fundraising goal for the 2013 event is $670,000. Each Charleston Challenge 2013 walker must raise a minimum of $1,500 by the event to be able to participate, but most will raise much more! In fact, last year's fundraising average was $2,150.
Route Description:
21.25 miles on Day 1 (March 1, 2013): Historic Charleston, crossing the Ravenel Bridge, through Mount Pleasant over the Causeway Drawbridge to Sullivan's Island
This route takes walkers past many historic and scenic sites in Charleston, Mount Pleasant and Sullivan's Island, which include the Citadel, the SC Aquarium, the Ravenel bridge, the Mount Pleasant Memorial Waterfront Park, Fort Moultrie, and the Sullivan's Island Light House.
18.75 miles on Day 2 (March 2, 2013): Mount Pleasant
On Day 2 Walkers journey through several of the beautiful neighborhoods of Mount Pleasant including historic Old Village and the Pitt Street Bridge pedestrian greenway, Wakendaw and I 'On.
10.00 miles on Day 3 (March 3, 2013): Isle of Palms
Walkers journey through the property of Wild Dunes and Isle of Palms with glimpses of the ocean as well as gorgeous beachfront and golf course homes before heading to our Finish Site at the Wild Dunes Resort for an incredible, emotional ceremony in the Palm Ballroom at The Pavilion.
Registration Fee Schedule:
June 1- August 31: $55
September 1-December 31: $65
January 1-February 28: $75
In order to walk in the Carolinas Challenge Walk, each participant must
Be 14 years or older by March 1, 2013 to participate as a walker. If under 18 years of age, a special Minor Waiver must be completed, signed, notarized, and brought with you to registration. All children under 18 must have a parent/guardian walking with them at all times.
Raise a minimum of $1,500.
Understand that Personal Vehicles of any kind along the route are PROHIBITED and can severely impact the safety and reputation of the event. This includes all friends and family and personal SAG vehicles.
Recognize that all Challenge Walk MS registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
