Although, till a few years ago taking a flight for a journey was considered to be the most aristocratic way of travel, but looking at the current scenario of globalization in mankind, aviation authority has tried to negotiate the air fare, so that a vast majority can utilize the flight facilities.
Though it brings convenience in every aspect, specially connecting long distance journey and reducing the time, but it also has some impediments. Among them, the security threat is a matter of concern. When in 2001, the world has witnessed the most ferocious attack on USA, it comes to the limelight that airport authority should take more necessary steps to secure their passengers and that is when they introduced the PNR (Passenger Name Record) system and gradually this system is entered into the domestic flights.
If you look at your flight ticket thoroughly, you will find out your PNR number, which is generated for each ticket and collects and reflects your details and keep it for future (in case if requires). It showcases your name, date of travel, destination, address, your medical condition, even your selected lounge and meals. The data is stored by airline authority for their commercial purpose, but mostly it is generated to avoid any emergency situation like hijacking or terror attacks.
