Every person visiting India must have a valid visa. In the recent past, India has permitted citizens from more than 160 countries to get an e-Visa India (here e-visa stands for Electronic Visa) for which they can apply online without much official hassle.
The applying process is done online, that is, using the Internet from the ease of home, without carrying their passport all the way to the Indian embassy and even the fee is paid online. Later, the e-mail is sent to the candidate within few days of successfully applying for it. The candidate is required to take a print of the visa and carry it along to India with them. When the person arrives in India, they get an official visa stamp on their passport.
E-Visa India can be used for varied purposes like tourism, business related work, to meet relatives and friends or even short duration medical treatments. This e-visa stands valid for 60 days only.
Eligibility criteria for E-Visa India:
• The candidate applying for e-Visa should possess a passport which has a minimum of six months validity from the date of arrival in India. Also there should be compulsorily two blank pages for stamping by the immigration officer.
• International travelers are supposed to carry return ticket and sufficient amount for their personal use for their stay in India.
• Travelers from Pakistan are supposed to get the traditional visa from the concerned authority offices.
• This is inapplicable for Diplomatic/official holders or those possessing government related travel documents.
• All individuals should have a passport where age is no criteria to excuse.
• It is not deemed to individuals on guardian’s/spouse’s passport which means every individual is required to have a personal passport.
Emergency travel visa to India:
Emergency travel visa to India are issued to provide permission for visits to India in special cases such as incidents of death and life, grave situations of unavoidable sudden illness of any peer. If such reasons exist, an emergency visa is not difficult to get across the globe. A visit is to be paid to the Indian embassy of the country and application process of such visas is conducted, which may take multiple days .
But, After the advent of electronic visa, the process has become simpler as one can apply for the same online and that application is carried forward on high priority. Once the candidate applies for the online process of e-visa, it takes only 24 hours for the approval of the same. Once the approval confirmation mail is received the candidate is supposed to take the print of the same and carry it while his/her stay in India.
