Dubai Music Week is the premier international music festival in the Middle East. The five day program includes celebrity guest speakers, master classes, an interactive entertainment village and four concerts with an award-winning line-up of A-list performers. The concerts feature talent over four categories – Rock, Pop, Urban and Latin and Arabic.
The event was started in 2013 by the Global Gumbo Group (G3) in partnership with the Dubai World Trade Centre. The Dubai Music Festival features best international music performers and entertainment companies. It goals to drive creation across the live entertainment and the music industry in the MENA region.
The Producers Panel, also MC'd by Fong-Torres, included Quincy Jones, Timbaland, and Will. I. am, who discussed the subject of music production and judged a talent selection competition, the winner obtaining a recording and production contract.
The inaugural Dubai Music Week 2013 was presented in association with Dubai Calendar, official Partner Emirates and official sponsor Pepsi. It was the first industry trade show in MENA that grouped major music labels & artists to display their products and launch programmes to key industry stakeholders and consumers. Jumeirah Zabeel Saray was the official hotel partner.
One of the biggest and most respected artists in the genre of Islamic music, Sami Yusuf, a multi-instrumentalist, has blazed a trail in writing, composing, producing and singing songs that moves audience and spreads beautiful messages of positivity.
Live in concert for the very first time in Dubai, Sami Yusuf will premiere his recent composition titled ‘Glorification’ which include lyrics from the lovely poetry of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Serious fans can opt for the ‘add-on experience’ to meet the star and watch him behind the scenes in a unique intimate 90-minute rehearsal one day before the actual live concert (15 December 2016).
