At the start of the millennium, the Central Government under the Late Prime Minister of India, Atal Bihari Vajpayee had created this state of Chhattisgarh bifurcating the then Madhya Pradesh. Today, standing 18 years later – the newly proposed state capital, previously called Naya Raipur, has been renamed as Atal Nagar, and is taking charge in creating employment and generating revenues. With the IT department spreading its wings in this domain, it is hosting the reins of the smart city project of India.

As one takes the 20km stretch from Raipur to Atal Nagar, this once upon a time barren domain has now entered the domain of smart city project of India. With its visionary initiatives and exceptional planning, it has truly included environmentally sustainable concepts and transit-oriented development in its domain.

With Chhattisgarh ranking 6^th in terms of ‘Ease of Doing Business’ in the Indian domain, the IT industry in India has truly got a boost. Also, since it is set to be both business and industrial hub, it is generating both employment and revenue for the state.
