Two types of visas are generally issued by the government of India. An e tourist visa India, generally for shorter validity term. It is recommended to apply for an e-Visa if the visit is for only one or two visits to India. The electronic visa is valid only for two entries. The electronic visa will be valid for a maximum of 120 days from the issue date and for a stay of 60 days from the arrival date in India. Only two Indian e-Visas can be issued for a single person in a single year.

The electronic visa will be processed online. It is issued within 18-24 business hours for urgent visits and sent to the registered email id. At the time of arrival at the airport in India, the biometric information will be taken and the passport will be stamped by way of the genuine traditional visa. You can apply for Indian tourist visa before a minimum of 4 days and a maximum of 120 days before arrival in India. The online visa application procedure is very easy and it is not required to send the original passport. Only a copy is required to be uploaded online. Online visa is a cost-effective process.

It is compulsory for an applicant to complete all the eligibility criteria and similarly an e-tourist visa applicant should recognize the following factors before application. The passport should bare minimum of six months validity from the date of arrival because an e tourist visa India application is going to get rejected if the passport is going to expire in that particular period. The passport should have at least two blank pages intended for the Immigration Officer to put the stamp at the time of arrival. One can apply for Indian tourist visa for the following reasons like medical treatment, meeting relatives/friends, leisure purposes or a business trip. The motive for the travel must be specified in the application. The applicant is supposed to present a return ticket along with proofs to show sufficient funds to support their trip in India.
