in Hermosa Beach with Casey Jennings and new partner
Pedro Salgado won the mens while Jen Boss and April Ross
won the womens event capping off a great 4 city tournment series.

Hermosa Beach, Calif. (Sept. 25, 2011) – The final day the Jose Cuervo Pro Beach Volleyball National Championship at the Hermosa Beach Open was not short of high energy, action, rollercoaster of emotions and upsets. Kills, blocks, strategic placements and contested calls – the intensity between the competitors and the energy of Hermosa was felt before daylight got off the ground. Winners showed why they were the best in the world and as the sun broke out on match point, Manhattan Beach Open champs Whitney Pavlik (Laguna Beach) and Jenny Kropp (Hollyglen) were unable to reclaim their title when they were defeated by No. 1 seeded team April Ross (Costa Mesa) and Jen Kessy (Laguna Beach) in two sets, 21-12 and 21-16. No. 4 seeded Casey Jennings (Manhattan Beach) and Pedro Salgado (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) successfully defeated No. 1 Sean Rosenthal (Hermosa Beach) and his partner Jake Gibb (Bountiful, Utah) in an intense final that ended 21-18 and 21-17. Both teams won the Jose Cuervo National Championship title, trophy and prize money.
