This 1 BR unit is nestled above the historic and sleepy Hawi Town with a view to Maui on a clear day. The bedroom features a Queen size bed and there is a full size fold out in the living room. My son and I use this as our getaway. We are one hour from the Kona airport. From here you have easy access to zip lining, Kohala ditch fluming, great snorkeling at Mahukona, Hapuna Beach and Waikaloa resort beaches, the saddle road across the island to Hilo and the volcanoes. At the end of Akoni Pule Highway, hike down to Pololo Valley's black beach. Horse back riding is up the hill on the Mountain Road (Highway 250) and many specialty shops and galleries invite you to browse and shop in Hawi and Kapaau. The Farmers market is a great experience on Saturdays and Tuesdays with fresh local foods and goods and live entertainment. The Kohala Hub features performances, and a variety of classes and enrichment programs in art, food, health, music and culture.
