ConnectAbilities Studio for the Arts incorporates the Reggio Emilia approach; children are seen as independent, competent, and capable learners. That also means we view those with "special needs" through the lens of diversity not deficiency. ​ Our philosophy is that early and ongoing inclusive activities are the most effective way to promote tolerance, patience, empathy and understanding...preparing children to become successful members of a diverse society. Our projects are based on the curiosities and interests of the group, and their desire to understand their world. Projects emerge through teacher designed provocations, open-ended materials and discussions, child inquiries, engagement and experimentation.
