PLEASE NOTE: The cottage is booked for the 2017 season.
This historic camp is our own little getaway. For that reason, we limit the number of rentals so that we can enjoy it, too! It has been recently renovated to sleep 6 comfortably. It is located on the quiet, west end of Shadow Lake, which is a pristine gem in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont; a 188 acre, clear, deep (140') lake with superb swimming, fishing, and lovely mountain views.
Come relax on the screened-in porch, or on the Adirondack chairs overlooking the shore. Maybe cast a line from our private dock, swim a bit, kayak...
Leave the cares of the city behind. There is no TV, but we do have radio and secure broadband WiFi.
The master bedroom, which has a picture window overlooking the lake, has a king-sized bed. The second guest room, also with a lake view, has a double bed, and the third bedroom, with a view of the forest, has three twin beds (one standalone and one bunk bed).
Downstairs you will find an open floor-plan, combining the dining area, kitchen and living room. A modern bathroom with shower is off the kitchen. Kitchen amenities include stove, fridge, microwave, coffee-maker, dishes, utensils, and cookware.
We provide plenty of bottled drinking water, but as with most cottages in the area, the water in the kitchen and bathroom is drawn from the lake and therefore not potable unless boiled.
There is a fascinating, must-see little grocery/hardware/curio shop in the town of Glover, which is about 3 miles away, and nationally renown pizza and entertainment at Parker Pie in West Glover, about 4 miles distant, or 1 mile, if you enjoy orienteering.
This cottage and the lake it is on are really a restful step back in time. Breathe, sip a gin and tonic, grill a burger on the deck, take an evening dip. Reconnect with what really matters to you and your family.
