Restaurant Description
The Harvest Hotel, in the heart of historic downtown Gilroy, is located in the former Milias Hotel, which was built in 1929. It was constructed on the same land where George Milia's Sr. had operated a restaurant that was started in 1885. It was the focal point of visitors that traveled from the Bay area to the Monterey Peninsula. There was a great feeling of Western Camaraderie at the Milias, as can be evidenced by the horseshoe bar, the stagecoach carving, and the western scene over the bar. The locals gathered almost nightly to visit and enjoy the company of good friends. Today, the Harvest Time Restaurant-still a local favorite--specializes in New American cuisine, and employs classic culinary techniques that have no ethnic boundaries. The restaurant has a warm, elegant setting, with high ceilings, crystal chandeliers, and rich tapestry. Harvest Time Restaurant serves lunch and dinner 7 days a week, with a Champagne Breakfast on Saturday and Sunday.
