The Howard Ray Home was the loation of the local post office. The history of this home can be found in the Macon County Historic Society Unit 1 along with photos of the Ray family standing out in front of their home. During renovation, old hand written accounts where the home founders would arter and trade with their neighbors for supplies were found!  The Rays were also carpenters, and maintained a saw mill and H. Ray served as the local judge.

The restoration began by raising the house up and removing the large river rocks that it was initially set upon. These are some of the same rocks that are now found on the exterior of the foundation.
