Dr. Barger grew up in Ellicott City, Maryland and told her mom she wanted to be a veterinarian when she was just 3 years old. At the age of 14 she got her first job working for the local veterinarian. Throughout high school she was very active in the performing arts and attended Emerson College where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Theater. After college she moved to Los Angeles California to pursue a career in acting, but she was never able to let go of her love for veterinary medicine. She continued to work as a veterinary technician throughout college and after graduation, working at some of the largest hospitals in the country. In 2006 she decided to redirect her career and apply for veterinary school. She moved from Los Angeles, CA to Starkville Mississippi to attend school at Mississippi State College of Veterinary Medicine. She graduated as a Wise Scholar from Mississippi State in April of 2011 and was the recipient of the American College of Veterinary Anesthesiologists Clinical Proficiency Award. After graduation she settled in Hurst, Texas where she lives with her fiancé Jeremytheir daughter Isabelle.Her furry family includes Link the Australian Shepard, Loki the "Mississippi Mutt", and 2 fluffy felines named Bailey and Hunter. Her professional interests include anesthesia and emergency medicine.
