Dr. Yakov Simkhayev - FOREST HILLS, NY

Determination Physical Therapy was founded by Dr. Yakov Simkhayev, PT, DPT.

Dr. Simkhayev graduated from Touro College with a Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy in 2005. Yakov’s Pre-Doctorate studies were completed at Hunter College of the City University of New York.

Prior to founding Determination Physical Therapy, Dr. Simkhayev has worked within the Long Island Jewish Health System at Franklin Hospital where he specialized in: acute, sub-acute and post-op patients.
He has extensive experience in treating patients with diagnosis of "cva" (commonly known as stroke), patients with Multiple Sclerosis, as well as patients who had total knee or hip replacements.

Dr. Simkhayev’s clinical experience also extends to working in an outpatient setting with a focus on orthopedic and geriatric population. As an experienced Physical Therapist, Dr. Simkhayev also treats numerous orthopedic and sports-related injuries with an emphasis on using various manual therapy techniques.
