Drive down a sweeping dirt road only 90 minutes outside of Boston, and you find yourself in front of a log cabin, idly watching over a crystal clear pond in silent brilliance. Take a leisurely stroll on one of many wooded paths around the pond and you can soak in the beauty of Mount Monadnock, overlooking your vacation home.
The sandy beach offers a tranquil place for you and your family to relax during the warm summer months with a dock and raft for the children to swim and fish off of. A large front porch holds a dining table for sunset dinners and an attached screened in gazebo allows for quaint evening cocktails. The neighboring Rhododendron State Park is named after the acres of flowers that come into bloom in late July. The largest grove of “Rhododendron maximum†in New England, the plants white flowers greet New Hampshire with its pure and refreshing aroma mid-summer. Across the lake is the Cheshire Recreational Rail Trail, a dirt/gravel trail that runs from Keene, NH to the Massachusetts state line that allows snowmobiling, hiking, biking, and other various activities.
Our cabin offers seclusion, but it also comes with the convenience of nearby amenities. 15 minutes away is the town of Keene, where you can stroll down the picturesque Main Street. Home to a wide variety of restaurants and small shops where you and your family can treat yourselves to a delicious, affordable meal. Book early enough, and you can experience the world renowned Keene Pumpkin Festival in mid-October.
If you stay during the winter months, this home is a winter wonderland of outdoor activities. Set up some ice fishing traps out on the ice and come back to the cozy cabin for some hot chocolate. Go for a snowmobile ride on the hundreds of miles of trails NH, VT, and MA have to offer or just relax and go for a nice ice skate on the pond.
