South Davis Veterinary Center has been a part of the Davis community since February 2003, and we can't thank you enough. We love being your vets! We appreciate that you are educated, compassionate, and care for your pets with abundant love and concern. We have enjoyed meeting so many of you and look forward to helping your families in the future.
Our philosophy is based upon personal attention and education. During our 30-minute appointments we strive to give you the information you need to make the right decisions about your pet's care. We individualize treatments, vaccination schedules, and recommended preventatives based on what you do with your pet and where you live. We believe that this minimizes risk to your pets, while maximizing their potential for robust health and longevity. Our goal is to keep your pet happy and healthy, comfortable and playful, so your bonds can grow and grow.

We have equipped our hospital to handle anesthesia of geriatric or critical patients, and the healthy patients benefit as well. Each patient is unique, and our approach to anesthesia and perioperative pain control reflects that. It takes extra effort to train the staff in the use of monitoring equipment, the use of in-hospital blood chemistry analysis, and the use of different anesthetic agents and pain control medications.

Dentistry: Probably the most overlooked problem affecting dogs and cats in America is proper oral care. Just as in our mouths, bacterial populations produce a film that binds to the enamel of the teeth. That film mineralizes into hard tartar which holds the bacteria right next to the gums. As more bacteria grow, they fill the gaps between the gum and the tooth, creating larger gaps and loosening the attachments to the tooth.
