You will appreciate the attractive blend of comfort and understated elegance as soon as you enter the spacious great room. A wall of windows pulls your eye toward a filtered view of East Sound and the cathedral ceiling and ridge skylights create a sense of light and volume. Facing the deck, there is a cozy conversation area to provide a sense of intimacy as well as two window seats that beckon you to stretch out and enjoy a view toward the water. Wood floors, Oriental rugs, eclectic art, a generous library of books and DVD’s, and a large-screen TV set the standard of comfort; on a misty day, the warmth of a beautiful wood-burning fireplace will take off the chill. New patio furniture makes warm days and evenings particularly enjoyable on the deck, along with a BBQ to grill those wonderful summer meals.
Cooks will be delighted with the kitchen – it is exceptionally well stocked with new dishes, utensils, and updated cookware and small appliances, as well as being equipped with a high-end Sub Zero refrigerator/freezer and ceramic cook top. There is a generous island with bar seating and plenty of counter space so that everyone can join in meal preparation. The two bedrooms are separated by the great room, each with a private bath and private exit onto the deck. One master bedroom suite offers a king bed, and connects to a large bathroom with dual vanities, jetted tub and large walk-in shower. The second master suite offers the versatility of two full beds and its en-suite bath also features dual vanities and a second large walk-in shower. This is a great floor plan for two couples traveling together! The home is also super for a small family as the two window seats in the living room can be made up as twin beds to accommodate additional guests.
There is no excuse for lack of exercise during your stay as just across the street you will find community tennis courts and a trail head that leads to Cascade Lake, the local swimming hole, and onward to miles of hiking trails in Moran State Park (imagine how the pooch will love that benefit!).
Cascade Trails is in a quiet neighborhood above historic Rosario Resort. Its marina, Kenmore seaplane dock, restaurant, spa, and convenience market are just down the road. The home is a 10-minute drive from the shops and restaurants in Eastsound, and a 25-minute drive to the Orcas ferry landing.
