The van:
2014 Ram Promaster 2500 w/ approx. 125k miles. She drives like a beast, averaging about 17mpg. 2wd only. We have leveling blocks, a tow strap, and a portable power jump station/tire pump. Jensen 10.1 touchscreen radio w/ Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and Bluetooth capabilities. Van also has a back up camera.
Seating:
We have lovingly added on to this van to make it the perfect fit for our young family. We have two captain chairs up front that can turn inwards, w/ a second row of two seats w/ lap belts (they work well with our car seat).
Sleeping:
We have a professionally built custom mattress that maximizes space and allows for a full-size sleeping arrangements. The bed measures 54” x 76” Above the beds are two fold down/up bunks. If you only need one, I will remove the other to maximize your space. We use a netting system to keep our little one safe from falling off of the bunk during sleep. The bunks measure 25” x 47” and have a weight capacity of 200lbs. We have curtains that block out light from the front windows, and black out magnet curtains for all the back windows.
Living space:
The two captains chairs turn to face the main cabin. Additionally, there is a high end Fiamma awning that allows for 13’ by 8’ for some relief against rain/sun. There are roll down bug screens for the back doors as well as the sliding door, allowing you to sit comfortably inside without the worry of biting insects.
Kitchen:
We have a two burner propane stove, 10 gallons of clean water and a 5 gallon grey water system. We have a platypus Gravity works 6L water filter if you need to refill clean water tanks while out in the mountains. We will provide 10” frying pan, a 2qt pot w/ pasta drain lid, as well as a cutting board, knives, large mixing bowl, and eating bowls/plates/utensils/coffee mugs. For coffee, we use an Aeropress (you will need to provide the coffee grounds, we have filters). We have a large Iceco 79qt dual zone fridge, which allows for one compartment to be a freezer if needed. You can adjust each side’s temperature individually. Van will come w/ two compact camping chairs as well as a camping table. With notification we can include a camping “highchair” for a young one.
Ventilation/heat
We have a Maxxfan deluxe overhead fan, which can be adjusted to pull air in or to take air out (useful when cooking). This fan is a workhorse and does a good job of keeping the van comfortable. We also have several USB fans that are helpful during really warm nights. For colder nights, we have a propane fueled Propex heater w/ adjustable thermostat. This thing can keep you warm in the coldest weather. Walls are all insulated w/ wool insulation. There are bug screens that cover the whole side door sliding area as well as the back door area when needed (these are awesome!)
Shower:
We have a outdoor hot-water shower (propane powered) with a shower curtain set-up for privacy if needed.
Power:
We have 200 watts of solar power w/ 200ah of battery, w/ a Renogy charge controller. We have an inverter that allows you to use 110v electricity and for hookup to electrical
Bike rack:
We have a hitch mounted lockable 2 bike rack that can be made available if requested.
Cleaning/Hygiene:
- Environmental-friendly showering soap and dish soap
- hand towel and washcloths for dishes
- Paper towel roll and Cleaning supplies for kitchen countertop and floor of van also kept in the van for use as needed.
- Small bags for trash can provided
Things you should bring:
- Bathing and/or swim towels
- Any food/coffee items you will want including essentials like olive oil, salt/pepper, etc.
- Toilet Paper
- Headlamps
