It doesn’t matter much where you are now, there will always be good reason to think about relocating to Denver, Colorado. The city is one of the few places where the residents are proud to say they live. Aside from it being a haven for all sorts of sports enthusiasts, Denver is one of the places where grown-ups never have to really, “grow up.” If you wanted you could play 24/7 when you live in the Mile High City. As they put it in the Huffington Post,

“It may explain why everyone seems to want to move there. Denver is experiencing a boom lately. The city is the second-fastest growing in its size category for the country, with a 5 percent population growth between 2010 and 2012 alone. What’s more, the downtown area is particularly primed, growing at five times the national rate.”

So, even if you don’t love sports, there’s always something fun to do in Denver.

The Climate

Because of the city’s ideal location in the shadow of the Rocky Mountains, the climate is about as good as it can get; temperatures are moderate and the humidity stays on the low side, and you get a whopping 300 days of sunshine every year. And when the gray skies appear, there’s no reason to be discouraged, those gray clouds are usually harkening snowfall in the nearby mountains that will make your winter months even more exciting. As it explains in Metro Denver,

“Winter storms are normally short-lived and snow melts rapidly in the region. The nearby mountains and ski resorts, however, receive significant annual snowfall. Metro Denver’s climate is best described as semi-arid, averaging just over 14 inches of precipitation annually.”

As an added bonus, because of the city’s location, situated more than 1,000 miles from any coast, there is little risk of floods, hurricanes, and violent storms. It’s also well away from Tornado Alley, so residents can feel pretty secure that they won’t have to concern themselves with a high risk of natural disasters coming upon them.

The Environment

Right along with the environment, Denver has a bunch of other plusses to brag about. Residents can enjoy a healthy lifestyle with clean air, and lots of opportunities to get up and move. Considered one of the healthiest cities in the country, residents can indulge in a plethora of public options to get physical. With baseball diamonds, parks, playgrounds, tennis courts, and all sorts of recreational facilities scattered throughout the city, there will definitely be something for you and everyone in your household to move about in.

Quality of Life

Nothing feels better than waking up to the beautiful surroundings of Denver. No matter where you live in the city, you’ll be able to find a home that will offer you the majestic views of the Rocky Mountains, fresh greenery in your immediate surroundings, and beautifully landscaped backdrops wherever you go.

The city is also green in technology development as well. Listed as the fifth “greenest” major city in the country by the Denver Business Journal for its environmental performance, it was recognized for its healthy environmental practices, ideas for the future, and its ability to be a fine role model for other cities as well. The comments made in the study said this about Denver,

“The city’s strongest categories are energy and environmental governance, where it places first. It’s clean and efficient energy policies are among the most robust in the Index, and its environmental governance is supported by its green action plan, green management and strong public participation.”

When you live in an environment like that, you can’t help but to want to get outside and enjoy it. The city has some of the most active residents in the country and as a result, it has the lowest obesity rates – helping residents to fight off many of the health problems that the rest of the nation is still struggling with.

Maybe it’s all that greenery, clean air quality, and their investment in green tech that makes it perfect for everyone. From singles to families and everyone else in between, when you choose to settle down in Denver, you’re just not settling for an existence, you’re settling for a life where you can truly live.
